Yes. Preview Replace (Dry Run) runs the same transformation routines and shows before/after snippet diffs without writing to the database. By default, a matching dry run is required before Execute Replace.

How does Easy Find and Replace handle serialized PHP and JSON?

The safety engine parses JSON and unserializes PHP structures (without hydrating objects), updates strings inside, recalculates byte lengths, and re-encodes so extensions keep working.

What happens if a replacement makes a mistake?

Every live replacement saves original cell snapshots. Open History & Rollback, open the job, and click Rollback to restore. Rows changed again after the replace are reported as conflicts.

Are passwords and primary keys safe?

Yes. Primary key columns are never replaced. Password hashes, tokens, session IDs, API keys, and tables such as session, user_keys, user_mfa, and webauthn_credentials are excluded.

Does it work with third-party components?
